Growing up on a farm in the lowcountry, Priscilla Coleman explored fields, forests and marshes, building a deep connection with the environment. She now grows and forages the flowers and foliage that are her subject, as well as her primary medium. Inspired by the shapes and textures of the plants, using their natural dyes to color the paintings, she seeks to capture the illusive characteristics and wonder of nature.
Priscilla earned a BSED in Art Education from the University of Georgia and her MFA in Painting from The Savannah College of Art and Design. She grew up and still lives in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. Beyond her work as an artist, Priscilla is also a farmer, growing flowers, herbs, fruit and indigo that often make their way into her art.
