Jill Schultz McGannon completed her BFA and MFA from the University of Georgia in 1985 and 1988, and has worked as a full-time artist for 35 years.
She started painting plein air in Cortona, Italy in 1995 when she was Artist in Residence on the UGA Studies Abroad Program, and continued painting plein air in the mountains and coastal Georgia and SC upon returning home, as well as painting large scale oils in the studio.
She has won first place at four plein air events in the last two years.
Accepted into five NOAPS (Nat’l Oil and Acrylic Painters Society) National shows since 2021.
Accepted into four OPA (Oil Painters of America) shows since 2021.
She has been an invited artist to Olmsted Plein Air in Atlanta the last three years.
She has won three awards in the Plein Air magazine Salon in the last three years.
Her work was featured in International Artist Magazine in January of 2023 in their Best Landscapes contest.
