“I think of myself as a reporter, chronicling the natural world with brushes, paint and canvas.”
After decades in communications and professional politics, my observer’s soul turned to oil painting when we resettled in coastal South Carolina in 2012. The scenes capture the light and emotions of our Lowcountry landscape and its marshes, rivers and boats that ply its coastline. I also paint “my” New England. The light, the mood, the subtle beauty of a storm-drenched marsh or a snow-draped dune, that’s the world I roam in now. I have studied art throughout my life and now my office is a palette, an outdoor easel and a sunny day.
