Wild Pages: Workshops
with Pam Johnson Brickell

Blending brush, pen, and curiosity in your journal

These two Wild Pages workshops begin with the big picture, then move closer—into the details and lives that give each subject its character.

Research materials are provided. As an explorer you’ll follow your own line of inquiry on the journal page, allowing individual choices—and the collective exchange with your peers—to add another layer of richness to the experience.

Learn the process for creating a multi-faceted journal page to capture your discoveries. Suggested for those with basic drawing and watercolor skills. See details for each class below.

If this way of slowing down, observing, and responding on the page speaks to you, We’d love to have you join Pam at Four Corners Gallery. Whether you choose one workshop or both, each offers space to explore, learn, and share in the company of others who enjoy looking closely at the natural world.

Bald Cypress: Seasonal Cycles & Story

Slow down. Look closer. The bald cypress has stories to tell.

This immersive workshop with Pam Johnson Brickell invites participants to explore the tree in all its forms—sketching details, pairing images with words, and designing a nature journal page rooted in observation. Process over perfection, curiosity over outcome.

Salt Marsh: Seasonal Cycles & Story

Slow down. Look closer. The salt marsh unfolds in layers of time.

This immersive workshop begins with the marsh as a seasonal landscape—studying shifting color and form—then narrows to the concentrated life revealed at low tide, where movement and behavior come into focus. Participants choose what draws them in, shaping a journal page that reflects their own way of seeing. Together, those varied responses create a deeper, shared understanding of place.
